WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SEA MOSS AND IRISH MOSS?
Our Sea Moss grows in warm, tropical oceans and has thick, stick-like branches. Irish moss also known as Chondrus Crispus grows in colder, northern oceans and has flat curly leaves. Both are part of the red algae family which makes them very similar in nutritional value.

Sea Moss itself does have a slight ocean fresh taste to it.
We suggest adding a squeeze of key lime juice when cleaning and preparing Sea Moss, this really helps to neutralize any ocean water smell and taste.
WHICH MINERALS DOES SEA MOSS CONTAIN?
Some of the minerals that Sea Moss contains are Zinc, Iodine, Iron, Calcium, Potassium, B Complex Vitamins, Sodium, Sulphur and Silicon. It is a great source of dietary fiber, Vitamin K, Copper, Riboflavin, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Manganese, Protein, Beta Carotene, B Vitamins, Pectin, Taurine (an amino acid usually lacking in vegan and vegetarian diets) and Vitamin C. These are all essential nutrients that you need to support and maintain healthy bodily functions.
WHERE IS YOUR SEA MOSS FROM?
Sea Moss grows along the rocky coast in the ocean. While there are many species that grow in various parts of the world, ours is sourced from the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea, in St. Vincent & Grenadines.
Local divers hand-pick our Sea Moss and naturally harvest it in the ocean. It is then cleaned and sun-dried prior to packaging. There is no other human intervention or use of chemicals and pesticides. The ocean waters are also monitored and routinely tested for Heavy Metals such as Lead, Mercury, E.Coli, and more.
HOW TO PREPARE
1. Soak the seamoss in a bowl of spring water for 6-10 hours. You can also squeeze a key lime in the water while it sooks or leave the lime in there.
2. Throw away the water it was soaking in and give it one more rinse.
3. Boil the seamoss for 5 minutes with spring water.
4. Let the water cool down a little then blend the seamoss and water. The warm water allows the seamoss to blend easier and it will be much smoother with no bits The less water you add the thicker it will be. The more water you add the thinner it will be. You can blend it with walnuts, cooked fonio, baby bananas, ginger, key lime, dates or agave if you want. Store it in a glass container.
Sea Moss can last in the fridge for 3-4 weeks. You can store it in the freezer for up to 3 months. You can also pour it into an ice-cube tray and freeze the sea moss for later use.
